Tsamba (aka Tsampa) — the first food of the Tibetans

Tsamba, roast whole-grain Tibetan barley flour, is well ingrained in ancient lore and everyday life in Tibetan culture.

Our Tsamba Balls are delightful snacks made with heirloom Purple Karma Barley flour and hazelnuts. They are lightly sweetened with natural dates and offer a combination of nutty, toasty, and chocolatey flavors.

Perfect for a convenient breakfast or on-the-go snacking.

Unique in character – purplish color (a type of antioxidant), Purple Karma Barley is superbly high in fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals and has a low glycemic index (helps regulate high blood sugar and diabetes).

Oregon-grown Purple Karma Barley: an American brought this heirloom barley from Tibet in 1924 and saved the seeds in the USDA seed bank until recent years. We feel fortunate to source this heirloom, non-GMO, eco-friendly crop locally.

The best filling little snack or breakfast!

I can't tell you how much I love these tsamba balls! They are such a filling little snack that is just the right thing when I need a hint of sweetness or a small bite for breakfast. The traditional or the dark chocolate ones -- give me either one and I am so happy. They're also a fabulous little travel snack. They are now a pantry staple for me.

Tasty healthful snacks make me feel good!

I buy tsamba balls and flaxseed spread almost every week at the farmer's market. They are such appealing and simple foods - I look forward each day to having a little "treat" that tastes wonderful, is full of healthy ingredients and is locally sourced. I've tried the breakfast mix only once so far, but it was a super easy and tasty option for a quick meal when I added milk, fruit and nuts.

Literally the best snack pick me up!

The tsamba balls are just sweet enough to please my sweet tooth, and they're nutrient dense. I keep these on hand for a mid-morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up of calories that don't require me to put forth any effort and can get back to work quickly when I'm in a flow state.
