Tsamba (aka Tsampa) — first food of the Tibetans

Tsamba is well ingrained in ancient lore and everyday life in Tibetan culture. Tsampa refers to roast whole-grain barley flour.

Our Tsamba Balls are delightful snacks made with heirloom Purple Karma Barley flour and hazelnuts. It’s lightly sweetened with natural dates and offers a nuanced combination of nutty, toasty, and chocolatey flavors.

Perfect for a convenient breakfast or on-the-go snacking.

Unique in character – purplish color (a type of antioxidant), Purple Karma Barley is superbly high in fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. (Barley also has a low glycemic index linked to regulating high blood sugar and diabetes.)

Oregon-grown Purple Karma Barley: an American brought this heirloom barley from Tibet in 1924 and saved it in the USDA seed bank until rediscovered recently. We feel fortunate to source this heirloom locally, eco-friendly non-GMO crop.
