Collection: Tibetan Tsamba (aka Tsampa) Products

Tsamba or Tsampa — first food of the Tibetans – is ingrained in ancient lore and everyday life in Tibetan culture.

Tsamba is a type of flour made from ground, roasted barley, which has sustained Tibetans for over a thousand years. We use the heirloom Tibetan Purple  Barley variety, now grown in the USA.

Tsampa is a beloved staple in the Tibetan diet and is enjoyed in many ways. The Dalai Lama begins his day with a bowl of tsamba. (The Guardian once described it as the "Breakfast of champions: the Dalai Lama's tsampa.")
