Tsamba or Tsampa — first food of the Tibetans

Tsamba is a flour made from ground, roasted barley, which has sustained Tibetans for over a thousand years. We use the Tibetan Purple Karma Barley (heirloom variety), which is now grown in the US Northwest, where we source from.

Tsampa is a beloved staple in the Tibetan diet and is enjoyed in many ways. The Dalai Lama begins his day with a bowl of tsamba. (The Guardian once described it as "Breakfast of champions: the Dalai Lama's tsampa.")
